GENERAL INFORMATION:
All items may be checked out for two weeks.
Your library card is good at all libraries in Baldwin County.
Most items may be renewed for an additional two weeks in person at the library, over the phone, by email, or by the patron on-line. They will not renew if there are holds (reserves) on them.
We have no limits on the number of books or magazines you may check out.
You will be limited to five each of audio/visual items.
To get a library card, please bring in a photo ID, proof of your current address and the name and phone number of someone we may use as a contact.
You may search our catalog at any time. As a member of the Baldwin County Library Cooperative, you have access to materials at all the libraries in the county. Just ask, and we will have your requests sent to Foley Library.
To place a book or other item on RESERVE, simply go to "Search the Catalog" (above), find the item you want, click on "Hold Request" and enter your Patron ID and PIN number. The entire number on your library card is your Patron ID and the last four digits are your PIN.
All materials can be checked out for two weeks if there are no holds (reserves). Items may be renewed at the front desk, over the phone, by email or on the Foley Catalog by clicking Patron Review. The barcode on your membership card is your ID and the last (4) digits on that barcode is your PIN number. (If this doesn't work, call us and we will make sure the correct PIN number is recorded.)

Videos and Audios are 50 cents/day overdue
Interlibrary Loans 50 cents/day overdue
Items lost/damaged to be replaced by you at our cost.

If we don't have the items you are looking for, please submit a request at the front desk, by phone or through our web site. For loan of items not held within the county (INTERLIBRARY LOANS), we charge return postage. All Interlibrary Loans requested at Foley must be returned to Foley.
We also provide free internet access to everyone. Persons under 16 must be have a written permission form on file at the library. Children under 12 must have a parent or guardian in the library at all times. Children under 10 must have a parent or guardian physically present with them while they are using the computer. Parents may file an authorization allowing their 11+ year old children unsupervised internet access with the library staff. There is a 15 cent per page charge for black and white printouts, and a 50 cent per page charge for color printouts.
Story time for pre-school age children is held twice weekly on Tuesdays at 10 am and repeated on Wednesdays at 10 am.
Summer Reading Program is held during the summer, with programs to keep your child interested and occupied!
Our Local History and Genealogy Collection is one of the largest in the county. We benefit greatly from continued contributions from the Baldwin County Genealogical Society. The room is staffed during our weekday hours until 5 pm. Call for information.
Our Book Club meets the fourth Tuesday (usually) of each month at 10am, except November and December when we meet on the third Tuesday. Check the library calendar for details.
We host or sponsor many community events throughout the year! Noted authors, “Tables of Contents”, Music and Movies in the evenings in April and May, and a wide variety of special events! They are all listed and up-to-date on our Library Calendar!
The Foley Public Library is a member of the Baldwin County Library Cooperative which includes Bay Minette, Daphne, Fairhope, Gulf Shores, Lillian, Loxley, Orange Beach, Robertsdale, Silverhill and Summerdale libraries.
Any card issued through a Baldwin County Library is good at any library in Baldwin County.
When searching the catalog, you may limit your search to your home library, or include all the Baldwin County libraries. If there is an item at another library, you may request that it be sent to your home library.
You may return checked out items to any Baldwin County Library, with the exception of Interlibrary Loans, which must be returned to the issuing library.
Our Friends of the Foley Public Library group was formed to help supplement the library's materials and services, help to raise the library's profile in the community, hold fund raisers each year and generally help keep the library vital.
Members receive the quarterly newsletter, the "Bookmark." Our F.O.L. is a very active organization. You may join through our website, or by visiting the library!
