DYNAMIC DUO STRIKES AGAIN!
Recycling Facts, Figures and Fun in Genealogy

FEBRUARY 13, 2010 AT 10:00 AM

The “Dynamic Duo” are not Batman and Robin but self-proclaimed title of Brown and Bornholt who will present the program ‘Recycling Facts, Figures and Fun in Genealogy’ on Sat. February 13 for the Baldwin County Genealogical Society members and visitors. The meeting begins at 10 a.m. in the Meeting Room of the Foley Public Library.

The duo of Dorothy S. Brown and Jeanette Bornholt use the adjective dynamic in their approach to family history with enthusiasm, persevering with materials at hand using an open mind, and keeping a sense of humor. Dot’s ‘lighthearted-attitude’ presentation will cover recycling/revisiting your census records for new information. Jeanette’s presentation will cover recycling information you may already have, and what is available in library and online. Both these presentations will cover some common mistakes we all make in researching our family history.

Dot Brown wears her Florida Cracker heritage as a badge of honor. She also wears a hat of many trades but is best know as reporter, editor and columnist for the Pensacola News Journal newspaper. Dot won first place award for her In-Depth Reporting series and a nomination for her “In Search of Golden Pond.”  She authored the best-selling book in Pensacola “A Cracker Crumb Trail” of her humor/lifestyle columns. Dot was instrumental in the organization of the West Florida Genealogical Society and is one of founders of the Baldwin County Genealogical Society. She is a member of numerous patriotic societies.

Jeanette Bornholt has been a librarian with the Foley Public Library for nearly twenty years which houses the largest in the county of Alabama, Local History and Genealogy Collections. She is a member of the BCGS and has been researching and recording her own family histories for more years than she admits. Bornholt finds helping others in their research a most challenging and rewarding experience as the popularity of genealogy continues to grow. Brown and Bornholt have worked together on programs, seminars and workshops promoting genealogy for a number of years.

Meetings are open to interested public
